Hiking trails

Mijn Reisverhaal

From our campsite, we take the RV to the trailhead at Mount Revelstoke, excited for the Eva Lake and Miller Lake hikes (hard, 17km and 550m elevation). Just a short drive from the campsite, we're at the gates of Mount Revelstoke National Park. After showing our brand-new Park Pass, we wind up the mountain roads and park the RV. The hike begins! 🌲πŸ₯Ύ Many paths are closed due to Berry Season, which also means Bear Season – a crucial time for bears to fatten up for hibernation. To minimize disturbances (and encounters), many trails are off-limits. 🐻🚫 We start on an asphalt road, eyes peeled for bears, but soon find ourselves on a charming, winding path that offers breathtaking views one after another. The landscape changes as we ascend, transitioning from lush foliage to sparser, needle-filled trees. πŸŒ„ Climbing and scrambling along, we spot a fearless marmot, capturing this moment up close. At the summit, two hidden, incredibly beautiful lakes await us, introducing us to the crystal-clear blue waters Canada is famous for. Eva Lake, with its rugged, ice-capped mountain backdrop, and Miller Lake, a blue gem cradled by near-vertical mountains, are simply stunning. πŸ“ΈπŸžοΈ Sitting on a large rock, we snack and soak in the beauty. The trek back is lengthy but the constant, magnificent views help distract from our tired legs. A truly beautiful hike! 🌟
