We have a route in mind that we would like to drive; now, we need to decide if we want to do this by car or camper. Of course, you can also make this trip by tent or backpacking, among many other ways, but for us, the choice boiled down to those two. A few years ago, we had the opportunity to take a camper trip along the west coast of America, and it was an amazing experience. This is why we are looking into it first.

Note that many of these companies offer early booking discounts. Planning your trip in advance can save you a lot of money in the end. We book the plane tickets, camper, and ferry passes a half year in advance, and can start planning the rest of our trip.
