Okay, we have chosen a camper trip. We have an organization, and we know roughly the route we want to take. The next choice is what TYPE of camper to rent. Here, too, there are different camper companies, within price categories. It is handy to pay attention to the conditions of these camper companies and the TYPE of campers they rent. This, of course, depends entirely on the budget you want to spend on this trip. For a lower budget, you can opt for an older camper. Some companies use 3-4-year-old campers, while premium companies use two-year-old campers.

Additionally, there is a difference in size. Campers in Canada and America are generally larger than in Europe. What we call a large camper in Europe is quickly a small camper in America or Canada. But don’t let you scare off to the size as the infrastructure in both Canada as America is built for large vehicles. Our camper is 24 feet and a year old. It is a beautiful luxury camper. This way, the camper is small enough to be allowed to stand in beautiful camping spots in National Parks and large enough to have some space for the two of us. You never know what the world will be like in the next 4 weeks, so we are also prepared for rain.

When renting a camper, keep in mind that you are not allowed to drive on the same day your plane lands; there must be at least a night in between. It is, therefore, wise to book a hotel between the airport and the camper rental location. Of course, you can always take a taxi or Uber there.
